Ambulance/s will be heavy-duty Iveco vans

The Adventure 4 Aid team is climbing Mt. Yuzhu to raise US$ 40,000 (approx. AUD$45,000- Mar 2010 rate) to kick-start the “Rural Ambulance/ Mobile Clinic Project”, and put one fully equipped vehicle with staff on the road.

The Qinghai-based humanitarian, not-for-profit organisation, “Love Qinghai Tibet Rescue & Aid” (LO-VEQ-TRA) [146:7-9], administering this project, is already partnering with the Red Cross Hospital to set aside a fund to help curb problem no.2.- high medical costs (see “The Problem” page). With the ambulance/s, it aims to curb problem no.1.- remote & difficult access to the hospital.

 B e n e f i c i a r i e s 

These Ambulances/Mobile Clinics will travel up to, and stay in a community for 1-2 weeks, giving medical care to those in surrounding areas, then move on to other communities throughout the mountainous grasslands, and so on. The worst cases will be brought down to the city hospital.

LOVEQTRA plans to carry aid- medicine, blankets, etc. up to the poor and needy during winter months with these vehicles, so the beneficiaries will likely approach thousands.

The life-saving benefits of these Mobile Clinics are immeasurable and long term.

 

Longevity of the Project

Local charity/community organisations in Qinghai have agreed to take over the fundraising and running of the Project from 2012 (after startup).

Sustainability comes from locals ‘owning’ their own projects. LOVEQTRA will monitor and fundraise where necessary.
